
Barley is a rich source of minerals and contains silicic acid which helps to strengthen ligaments and connective tissue. Silicic acid together with sugar also has a beneficial effect on the nervous system and metabolism.
Pearl barley is the whole kernel of the barley grain which has been hulled and then polished. It is a great addition to soups, stews, casseroles or as a stuffing for leaf vegetables and cabbage leaves.
